Our Story

Amara means Immortality in Sanskrit.
“Love is timeless, caring for others is ageless and the cycle of life is endless.”

Karen and Nitin Bhatia founded Amara Foundation for Life to honour their parents. Having spent a couple of years being the caregivers for ageing parents made them aware of their good fortune to have each other in their lives. Many elderly people are struggling to survive due to poverty or because they were not blessed with loving children. This idea to care for the elderly was shared with Priyankaa Vir and Sarosh Parakh. They were deeply moved by this need and hence was born the vision for Amara.

They decided to expand their aims to additional areas that have little or no support.

Immortality is symbolised by the blue rose.

Amara chooses to be recognised with this beautiful and rare symbol.
