Hallelujah Children’s Home

Hallelujah Children’s Shelter in New Bowenpally housed 16 destitute girls (8-19 years), most of who have been abandoned or are at risk of being exploited by their families.

This 100 sq. yd. home was run by Pastor John Victor Seelam. He has been looking after the girls with his own meager earnings and sporadic help from others since 2004. The Children’s Shelter has a monthly expense of approximate Rs.50,000 per month.

Amara took 100% responsibility for the purchase and delivery of all the provisions and food that was needed and no money was handed over to the shelter. Each child was provided for and personally monitored by us.

Hallelujah Children’s Shelter’s registration & paperwork was not approved and had to shut operations. Efforts were made to relocate the children to other shelters while some decided to go back to their families. Funds raised have been redirected to Grace Social and Educational Society (GSES).
